About the ASAC

The Arts and Sciences Advising Center (ASAC) is a centralized advising office that provides developmental academic advising and educational assistance to undergraduate and graduate students and faculty and staff in the College of Arts and Sciences. It is staffed by professional academic advisors who are available on a drop-in basis and for scheduled appointments.

Mission

The ASAC is dedicated to the holistic professional and academic formation of current and prospective A&S students through the building of educational plans and the promotion of academic excellence. The ASAC connects students to university resources and offices necessary to support their academic, professional, and personal success.

Vision

The ASAC will be an office that connects all current and prospective A&S students to university resources and opportunities and is staffed by academic advisors who are innovative, creative, and at the frontier of best practices in academic advising.

Values

  • The ASAC provides developmental advising to help students discern their educational paths and achieve a robust Seattle University experience.
  • The ASAC supports students while also empowering their personal growth with decision-making, self-efficacy, and developing transferrable academic and life skills
  • The ASAC promotes equality and access to education for all and assists students in understanding their own identity, culture, and self-expression in the context of their academic experiences.
  • The ASAC partners with faculty advisors and staff to support the educational endeavors of Seattle University students.

I have had a very positive experience working with my advisor and the other faculty in my majors. I truly wouldn't be nearly as prepared for life after college if not for this advisor/these professors and the guidance they have given me.
