Student Portfolio Managers
Matthew Alderson is a junior in the Albers Business school pursuing a B.A.B.A with a major in finance as well as a B.A.E with a specialization in International Development. Outside of the Redhawk Fund he serves as Vice-President of the Investment Club, plays an active role as the Undergraduate Representative for the University's Investment Committee, and is on the men's Tennis Team. Matthew loves traveling, hiking, and is a dual citizen to the U.S.A and Australia.
Bowen Chen joined the Redhawk Fund (RHF) in June 2016 as a portfolio manager. He is the first Chinese student to receive an internship from Boeing, where he interned as a business analyst in the summer of 2016. In addition, he is also the president of China Business Club, the only Chinese Business Club recognized by the Albers School of Business and Economics. Qiuyu Huang is a graduate accounting student. She is passionate about both accounting and finance. People describe her as an analytical and critical thinker. She serves as a portfolio manager as well as the broker for the Redhawk fund. She is currently interning with Deloitte Tax LLP. After graduation, she wants to work for a public accounting firm to provide professional advice to clients while at the same time she could keep learning and take on more responsibilities. She is interested in stocks, science, travel and movies. She likes a quote from the movie “The Big Short.”
Justin is a senior finance/accounting double major and will be graduating this spring. He served as an analyst for the Fund in 2015-2016 and currently serves as a portfolio manager as well as the chair. Prior work experience includes Meridian Capital and JP Morgan Chase. After college, he looks to pursue a career in fund management or investmentJ banking.
Thanh is doing her Master of Professional Accounting degree with a concentration in Internal Audit. Her anticipated graduation date is June 2017. She felt very fortunate to be selected as one of the Portfolio Managers for the RHF for the academic year of 2016-2017. The RHF is an exceptional opportunity for an accounting student like her, who is eager to learn more about finance, to understand how security investment works as well as how to perform an equity valuation. In conjunction with school, Thanh is doing a tax internship at Berntson Porter in Bellevue. Prior experience also includes an audit internship with Novogradac & Company and an accounting internship with BECU. After college, Thanh looks to pursue a career in either corporate finance or audit.
Redhawk Fund Analysts
Sattam is a senior in Albers from Saudi Arabia majoring in finance and economics. He currently serves as an equity analyst for the fund. His prior experience includes working at the Saudi Stock Exchange and the Saudi Arabian Olympics Committee. His interests include philosophy, politics, education, and cultures. After graduating, Sattam plans on pursuing a career in banking or management consulting.
Nick Barbarick is a junior finance/business economics double major graduating in spring 2018. He served as an analyst for the Fund in 2015-2016 and currently serves as the senior equity analyst. He wants to pursue fund management or work in data science after college.
While still in high school, Joe founded a stock market literacy company offering investing and trading advice to aspiring business professionals. As a first year student at Seattle University, Joe was elected by his more senior peers to run the business school's Investment Club. While currently a junior finance student, Joe also has work experience with both a leading asset management firm, and one of the West Coast's leading banks. As an avid golfer and surfer, Joe knows the importance of investing in free time as well.
I am a senior majoring in finance with a minor in accounting. In my spare time I enjoy skiing the slopes and catching up with old friends.
I am a senior finance major in the Albers school of business and economics. I am hoping to pursue a career in investments and equity valuation. Some things I like to do in my free time include: traveling, scuba diving, and exercising.
Joe Jiawei is in the Master of Science in Finance program and will be graduating this spring. He served as an analyst for the Redhawk Fund in 2015-2016 and currently serves as an equity analyst. Prior work experience includes working at a real estate firm as an asset appraiser. After college, he looks to pursue a career in a financial consulting or investment banking.
Kayla Kerr is an economics student (Sr.) at Seattle University's Albers School of Business and Economics. In addition to her position as an Analyst on the RedHawk Fund, Kayla also serves as Portfolio Manager for the Albers Investment Club. Prior to joining the RedHawk Fund, Kayla was a member of Seattle University's 2015 - 16 CFA Research Challenge Team. In conjunction with school, Kayla works in research at Sroufe & Co., a Seattle-area registered investment advisor. Post graduation, Kayla will be joining Goldman Sachs' Private Wealth Management division.
I am a senior business economics and finance double major. I currently work as a New Student Mentor for the Albers School of Business and Economics. This past summer, I interned for an economic research firm in Washington, D.C., which centered around policy research and analysis.
Xinrui Li is a 2nd year MSF student at Seattle University's Albers School of Businesss and Economics. She joined the Redhawk Fund in June 2016 as an equity analyst. Prior to joining the Redhawk Fund, Xinrui worked as a financial analyst for a local company in Bellevue, helped providing investment advice.
R.J. Realubit is a senior finance major who will be graduating in June 2017. Outside of the Redhawk Fund, R.J. serves as a treasurer for the Hui 'O Nani Hawai'i Club and Club Basketball at Seattle University. In his free time, he enjoys: traveling, photography, and playing basketball. After college, he plans to pursue a career in financial planning.
Enderson Wong is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and will be graduating this spring with a Master of Science in Finance. He serves as an equity analyst for the fund. His prior experience includes working as an assistant manager of external audit in KPMG Hong Kong and as an internal auditor in Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited, a telecommunication company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE). After graduation, he plans to pursue a career in investment banking, fund management and/or financial consulting.
Wenjun is a second year MPAC student, concentrating on business analytics and internal audit. She currently serves as an equity analyst in the RedHawk Fund. Prior work experience includes working with the Albers graduate advising team, PwC Shanghai, and E&Y Shanghai. She is working at Weyerhaeuser right now. After graduation, she looks to pursue a career in a public accounting firm.
