TEED-5120 : Elementary Unit Planning and Social Studies Teaching Methods

The course is designed to support teacher candidates in developing social studies curriculum, instructional, and assessment strategies for K-8 students that are culturally relevant and responsive to their students' learning needs. Emphasis is on how we prepare young people to be committed to and acquire the knowledge and skills to fully participate in our democratic society and interdependent world. Course concepts and pedagogical skills will be applied in field settings.
