Special Education Master's Program

JWT Special Education Scholarship

The JWT Special Education Scholarship recognizes outstanding teachers who demonstrate potential to provide leadership in special education and who would be unable to complete the Special Education master’s degree program in the College of Education at Seattle University without financial support. This award is for students who are beginning their master's degree in Special Education.

  • Amount Awarded: $2,000; Award may only be used for tuition, textbooks and/or materials.
  • Duration: One year
  • Application Deadline: May 30

Criteria for Selection: The award for first-year students based on compatibility with the mission of the College of Education: "Preparing ethical and reflective professionals for quality service in diverse communities,” evidence of potential for excellence in teaching practices and/or leadership in special education, and evidence of financial need.

AMB Special Education Scholarship

This award recognizes continuing students with financial need who demonstrate excellence in teaching practices and/or leadership in Special Education.

  • Amount Awarded: $2,000; Award may only can be used for tuition, textbooks and/or materials.
  • Duration: One year
  • Application Deadline: May 30

Criteria for Selection: The award is based on compatibility with the mission of the College of Education: "Preparing ethical and reflective professionals for quality service in diverse communities,” evidence of potential for excellence in teaching practices and/or leadership in special education, and evidence of financial need. This award is only for students who have successfully completed at least 15 credits in their master's program in Special Education.
