Diversity and Inclusion:
Our Commitment. Your Response.

In light of recent campus events that concern our LGBTQ+ community, Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons’ staff affirms the critical importance of libraries as places of solace and support during challenging times, and as powerful forces for change by promoting equity, diversity and inclusion. Our staff strongly supports the American Library Association's fundamental values as our guiding principles. Free access to the ideas, resources, and information in our libraries is imperative for education, employment, enjoyment, and student success.

On behalf of Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons, I wish to take this opportunity to affirm both these values and our commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment on campus where diverse ideas flourish through the resources and services we provide to the students, faculty and staff we serve. We are committed to addressing these values through reflection and active engagement with our community. We welcome your input to ensure that we reflect, serve and support the full spectrum of Seattle University.
