Letter from Rebecca K. Pazdral, M.A., D.Ed., Academic & Pre-Health Advising Supervisor & Doozy

I have worked in Health Professions Advising for over 10 years & am from a family of physicians and know how important good pre-health advising is to your success with your future career goals. I enjoy working as a pre-health advisor because I can have relationships with students throughout their time here & beyond. In this position I get to wear many hats: academic advising, career counseling, professional development, club advising, admissions counselor, and life coach. The most important thing for you to know is I am here for you. Motivated compassionate students such as yourself are the reason I love what I do.

My goal as a pre-health advisor is to help you along the path towards success. Students should come see me at least once a year, preferably once a term, but can come in as much as they need. We have both scheduled appointments and drop-in hours every week.

When you come by the office you will get a chance to meet my service dog, Doozy. She is very friendly and affectionate. Since she works at a college I am OK with students saying hello to her, but if you have concerns with dogs we can meet somewhere she is not.

The Pre-Health Advising Office sponsors events throughout the year. We have big events, like the Health Professions Expo, as well as smaller events like recruiters & speakers, plus skills workshops to help you apply. Students are never required to meet with their pre-health advisor, but we are here to help. Let us know how we can assist you along your path.

I look forward to working with you.
