Workshops

In collaboration with Career Services, Campus Ministry, Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Office of Fellowships a variety of workshops are offered for all members of the SU community, including both prospective and returning study abroad students. Past topics included; resume building, reflection, and funding opportunities. Our hope is with specialized workshops students have the chance to explore programs, share of experiences, and re-entry process in more detail. 

College of Art & Sciences Photo Competition

Submit photos that address the theme "Imagining the World" to the annual Imagining The World Photography Competition for a chance to win great prizes and be showcased in an exhibit at the Kinsey Gallery.

 

 

 

Global Ambassadors

The EAO is seeking a group of motivated and committed study abroad returnees with a passion for study abroad and international engagement to join our Global Ambassador Program. Global Ambassadors will:

  • Reflect on their study abroad experiences in order to improve pre-departure, advising, and returnee processes
  • Plan campus-wide cultural events that promote global engagement and draw from student experiences abroad
  • Develop returnee programming to aid returning students in their transition back to campus
  • Mentor outgoing study abroad students prior to their departure
  • Assist in pre-departure health, safety, and culture orientations

Volunteer at one of the many ISC cultural events such as the International Dinner and International Week. Get to know international students here at SU!

Office of Multicultural Affairs 

>Join one of the many international student clubs to stay culturally engaged or register for a social justice training around issues of diversity or multiculturalism.

Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry offers service immersions, providing students with an opportunity to challenge themselves by exploring faith and justice in communities across the globe.

Office of the Fellowships 

Further your international experience by applying for a fellowship, grant, or scholarship. These opportunities include prestigious awards like the Fulbright Grant, Truman Scholarship, Rhode Scholarship, or Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship.

Global Awareness Program - International Studies Internship

The GAP program offers students the opportunity to declare a specialization in global awareness through participating in multicultural experiences in Seattle, taking globally-focused course work, volunteering, and working with on-campus cultural organizations.

 

Center for Community Engagement 

Work with the CCE to find local volunteer opportunities with non-profits, get involved with the Children’s Literacy Project, or learn more about the Seattle University Youth Initiative which connects the SU community to the surrounding neighborhood.

The CCE offers a variety of volunteer opportunities with cultural organizations and/or organizations that serve diverse and multicultural populations. Contact the CCE for details. Here is a list of organizations CCE partners with that may be of interest to study abroad returnees:
