Tina Kouratchvili is a native of Tbilisi, the Republic of Georgia. She graduated with a Master’s in piano performance and pedagogy from the Georgian State Conservatory in 1989. Tina’s credits there include performing with the Georgian Symphony Orchestra and the Georgian National TV in addition to solo concerts. Tina worked as a coach-accompanist with the Georgian Opera and Ballet Theater and the Georgian Conservatory. Tina’s repertoire includes more than thirty classical and contemporary operas. She has performed the world premiere of Rakov’s Second Piano Concerto, a distinguished composition by a leading Russian composer. Since Tina’s arrival to Seattle in 1993, she has been a features soloist with the Olympic Chamber Orchestra playing Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto in G-minor and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto in C-minor. She has worked as a faculty accompanist at Seattle Pacific University and the Northwest Pacific Ballet. Currently, Tina is a faculty member teaching piano at Seattle University, where she has played at a number of solo and chamber concerts.
