For those 45 credits, the Christian Theology specialization requires students to take 10 credits (2 classes) of courses under 'Christian Thought,' 5 credits (1 class) of 'Hebrew Bible/Old Testament,' 5 credits (1 class) of 'New Testament,' 5 credits (1 class) of 'Theological Ethics,' and 10 credits (2 classes) of Advanced Christian Theology Courses.

For those 45 credits, the Comparative Religion specialization requires students to take 15 credits (3 classes) of courses under 'World Religions,' 5 credits (1 class) of 'Sacred Texts,' 5 credits (1 class) of 'Theological Ethics,' 5 credits (1 class) of 'Interreligious Dialogue,' and 5 credits (1 class) in Advanced Comparative Religion.
The Honors major in Theology and Religious Studies (B.A.) offers an opportunity for motivated and capable students to engage in more extensive interaction with faculty and to complete challenging individual research projects that will further their personal and professional goals.
In order to complete the requirements for departmental honors and receive a notation to that effect on their transcripts, students must earn 60 credits in Theology and Religious Studies courses (10 more than the usual major requirement), earn a cumulative and major/program grade point average of 3.50, and receive an A or A- for THRS 4790 Theology and Religious Studies Honors Thesis Supervision.
In order to earn a minor in Theology and Religious Studies, students must complete 30 credits in Theology and Religious Studies. This total includes the Core requirements of UCOR 2100 Theological Explorations and UCOR 3100 Religion in a Global Context. Although UCOR courses do not count toward the major in THRS, they do count toward the minor. Note too that the specialization categories are different from those of the major.
Our faculty teach most of the UCOR 2100 and 3100 courses in the University Core. UCOR 2100-Theological Explorations courses are in Module II of the Core, Engaging Jesuit Traditions. UCOR 3100-Religion in Global Context courses are in Module III of the Core, Engaging the World.
