Fair Trade Fair

On December 1, 2016 CEJS, along with Engineers for a Sustainable World, the Center for Jesuit Education, and Bon Appetit, hosted the first Fair Trade Fair on campus. This event helped to deepen the knowledge and appreciation of fair trade by bringing together fair trade organizations, students, and community members in Seattle and promoting fair gift giving for the holiday season.

We hosted 24 fair trade vendors selling diverse fair trade products sourced from all over the world; Seattle University students welling artwork, jewelry, and other handmade goods; and fair trade advocacy groups presenting information to the public. Over 450 visitors stopped by to learn about fair trade and purchase fair holiday gifts. Seattle University's Bon Appetit provided lunch and fair trade coffee and chocolate samples for all in attendance.
