Application Deadlines

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until cohort has been filled. Early submission by the priority deadline is encouraged to ensure consideration for the upcoming cohort. Please note that cohort coursework officially begins every Summer Quarter.

Applications for the Post-Master's Certification program are accepted for Summer Quarter only. Students may apply early and begin taking core College of Education courses prior to the cohort start.

Application Requirements

Online Application 

Complete Seattle University’s Online Application, which includes the following elements:

  • Statement of Purpose - Please include in your application a response to the following prompt (500 words or less):
    • Describe how your experiences, perspectives, and talents have shaped your understanding of leadership and will help you to make an impact in your graduate work at Seattle University and to inspire transformational change in the communities you serve.
  • Interview Video Submission - Once you have submitted your application you will be sent a link to record video responses to several questions regarding educational leadership and your professional goals.
  • Résumé        
    • Reflecting at least three years of successful relevant work experience (for Principal specialization your experience must be classroom-based).
  • Two Letters of Recommendation Forms 
    • From supervisors within past five years
  • College of Education Self-Evaluation Form
  • Official transcripts
    • Sent electronically directly from all colleges previously attended. If your prior college mails paper copies, please send them directly to:

Admissions Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
    • Calculated from the last 90 quarter/60 semester credits of the bachelor's degree and any post-baccalaureate course work. 
    • Applicants with less than a 3.00 GPA and/or a degree from non-graded bachelor's programs will be evaluated and considered for probationary admission. Applicants will be required to submit an additional academic writing sample.
