Seattle Mayor Ed Murray proclaims Homecoming "Seattle University Weekend."

This week SU celebrates Homecoming, a storied campus tradition that takes on even greater significance as the university continues to celebrate its 125th anniversary.

As SU alumni, students, faculty and staff join in the multitude of events planned for Homecoming, Feb. 1-5, Seattle Mayor Ed Murray has officially proclaimed it “Seattle University Weekend.”

The proclamation, which appears in its entirety here, acknowledges SU’s excellent education and national reputation for community service as well as the “thousands of Seattle University alumni (who) live and work in Seattle, King County and the greater Puget Sound region, contributing to the local workforce and improving the communities in which we all live and thrive.”

In a Jan. 24 announcement to campus, President Stephen Sundborg, S.J., encouraged students, faculty and staff “…to attend the numerous opportunities taking place February 1-5, 2017. Bring your families and tell your friends. In particular, I invite you to show your support and school spirit…”
