The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities will visit SU this month

Seattle University is undergoing a self-study evaluation process with our accrediting body, the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). We will welcome to campus a team of trained peer evaluators from other accredited institutions. The evaluators will seek evidence to confirm that the university is meeting all the standards and eligibility requirements of our accrediting body so that the commission will be able to reaffirm our standing as a regionally accredited university. The evaluation will also provide valuable feedback to the university on our strengths and areas of concern.

As part of this process all staff and all faculty are invited to participate in the NWCCU site visit by attending the Staff Forum or the Faculty Forum with the NWCCU evaluation team. These meetings provide the evaluators with an opportunity to ask specific questions related to the NWCCU standards, and also serve to help them understand how the university seeks to carry out its educational mission and strategic priorities. Below are the scheduled times and locations to for these meetings with the evaluation team.

  • Staff Forum: Wednesday April 25, 1:30-2:30 p.m., Wyckoff Auditorium
  • Faculty Forum: Wednesday April 25, 2:30-3:30 p.m., Wyckoff Auditorium

All students, staff and faculty are invited to attend the NWCCU evaluation team’s presentation of their recommendations and commendations at the end of their campus visit:

  • NWCCU Recommendations and Commendations Presentation: Friday, April 27, 11 a.m.-noon, Pigott Auditorium
