Rajeev Majumdar, a 2007 graduate of Seattle University School of Law, was recently sworn in as president of the Washington State Bar Association. The country's first state bar president of South Asian descent, Majumdar brings a long history of community service to the role.

As a law student, Majumdar was editor of the law review. He graduated cum laude. “Congratulations on this important leadership role, Rajeev!” the law school wrote on its Facebook page. “Your law school is proud of your commitment to service.”

Charged with licensing the state’s nearly 40,000 lawyers, the Washington State Bar Association ensures the integrity of the legal profession and champions justice.
