Charles Tung, associate professor of English, was invited to lead a discussion in the Mellon Graduate Research Seminar, “Quanta, Psyche, Cell: Epistemologies of Temporality and Presence,” at the Humanities Research Center, Rice University, Houston TX, on Feb. 28. His presentation, “Zero Hour: Clocks and the Ongoing Ends of Modernity,” focused on big clocks, clockpunk anachronism and critiques of settler imaginaries of the end of civilization.
