Computer Science Chair Looks at Privacy in Digital Space

July 13, 2020

“You must take control of your own data by taking time to understand how to set your devices and apps to the privacy preference.”

Associate Professor Dr. Roshanak Roshandel, chair of the Computer Science department, headlined a webinar last week as part of the Bellevue Chamber’s “” series. Dr. Roshandel presented on her knowledge of “Big Data in Private Space” and shared with a virtual audience of around 1,000 ways individuals and organizations can maintain privacy in an increasingly connected and digital world. For instance, did you know that every 60 seconds, a million people log onto Facebook or that 3.7 million queries are processed by Google?

Her advice for a young person with multiple connected devices? “You must take control of your own data by taking time to understand how to set your devices and apps to the privacy preference.”
