Seattle U Earns Five NACMA "Best Of" Awards

Seattle University was recognized at the 2021 National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) "Best Of" Awards, earning five awards including two gold, two silver and a bronze.

Initiated in 2003, the NACMA "Best Of" Awards program honors outstanding achievement in marketing and promotions. Awards are presented in 16 categories, with each category divided into three groups based upon school size and conference affiliations to promote fairness. 

The Redhawks' teddy bears initiative was the big winner, claiming two gold awards for the categories of Community Engagement & PR and Revenue-Generating Idea. Additional awards for the initiative includes silver for the Season Ticket Campaign and bronze for Digital Promotion. Known as the "Stuff the Stands" promotion, an alternative to cardboard cutouts during the winter sports seasons, it allowed fans to claim a bear in the stands at the Redhawk Center as their very own.

At the conclusion of the season, the stuffed bears were donated to the Denise Louie Education Center where they were distributed to children during spring graduation at the center’s International District location.

Seattle U earned a second silver award this year in the category of Fan Giveaway Promotion for efforts in a digital advent calendar.

This marked the fourth consecutive year that Seattle U was honored at the annual NACMA "Best Of" Awards, with the five honors being an all-time high.
