Seattle University is ranked number 5 in the West.

Seattle University continues to rank among the top regional universities in the West, according to U.S. News and World Report's Best Colleges 2015.

SU ranks 5th among 132 regional universities with a full range of undergraduate, master's and select doctoral degree programs. The university has maintained a spot in the top 10 for more than a decade.

"To consistently be ranked among the nation's top master's universities is a distinct honor," says Provost Isiaah Crawford. "It is further testament to the teaching and scholarship of our accomplished faculty and the personalized, transformative experience they provide our students, as well as the increasingly integral role the university plays in shaping one of America's most vibrant regions."

Seattle University also received high marks from U.S. News for being a best value school, ranking #7 in the West.

Among U.S. News specialty rankings nationwide, the Albers School of Business and Economics ranks #14 for finance, the top program of its kind in the Northwest, and #18 for accounting. Albers is tied for #36 nationally among private business schools-and is the Northwest's top private business school. SU's undergraduate engineering programs were #34 nationally in the U.S. News rankings.

The prestigious rankings coincide with widespread recognition of the university's significant achievements in academics, campus experience, athletics and commitment to service and social justice as a Jesuit Catholic university. The university also was recently included among The Princeton Review's best colleges guide and was ranked 38th nationally among master's universities by Washington Monthly (up from #44 last year).

U.S. News rankings are based on factors such as freshmen retention, graduation rate, student-to-faculty ratio and how favorably a school is regarded by administrators at peer institutions. For more information about the rankings, visit U.S. News.
