Biography

Ajay is an advanced registered nurse practitioner and a nationally board certified nurse-midwife. He began his nursing career as an Army nurse, practicing in inpatient and outpatient settings in roles as a bedside clinician and in administration. Ajay then attended midwifery school to pursue his passion in sexual and reproductive health and nurse-midwifery. While in midwifery school, Ajay was struck by learning about the inequities within the current American healthcare system and how it negatively affects perinatal health outcomes in the richest country in the world.

He is originally from Colorado, and is currently living in Seattle, WA with his wife Kendra and enjoys exploring the area as his new home.  Ajay’s focus lies in sexual and reproductive health, nurse-midwifery, and healthcare systems research. He is a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, Wilderness Medical Society, a peer reviewer with the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the American Association for Men in Nursing. Ajay looks forward to continuing the long tradition of nurses and midwives caring for others in the academic setting.
