How to Apply

Individuals may apply for the Diagnostic Ultrasound, Bachelor of Science (BS) degree major as incoming first-year students or as junior-level transfer students from other colleges. Individuals who have already earned a bachelor's degree may apply for the Diagnostic Ultrasound Post-Baccalaureate degree or Post-Baccalaureate Certificate.

Please note that internal transfers (students who have already started at SU) will be admitted on a space-available basis due to the constraints with clinical placements and the need to limit the size of each cohort.

Application Requirements

  • Seattle University Transfer Application. All supplemental application materials are included in this application.
  • $60 non-refundable application fee (waiver options available).
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities where credit was earned or attempted
  • Applicants for whom English is not a native language must provide proof of English proficiency regardless of citizenship status. Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency at non-English Language Culture Bridge program level. More information is available here.

The application deadline is February 1 for fall quarter transfer admission

All application materials must be received by the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Both applications request a list of coursework in progress, a ranking of Vascular, General or Cardiac tracks and essays describing your interest in Diagnostic Ultrasound and Seattle University.

All students have the opportunity to rank their interest in a vascular, general or cardiac sonography track focus. Track placements will be determined based on available clinical spots.

Your first step:

  • To apply as an incoming first-year student, contact the Seattle University Admissions Office
  • Internal transfers—students who have already started classes at SU—will be considered based on space availability in the program. Due to the constraints with clinical placements and the need to limit the size of each cohort, internal transfers will only be admitted on a space-availabile basis.
  • To apply as a transfer student or post-bacc student for the BS degree, post-bacc degree, or post-bacc certificate, contact Transfer Admissions or email transfer@seattleu.edu.

Applicants are encouraged to participate in volunteer or paid health care-related activities that promote the development of communication and interpersonal skills and provide an opportunity to evaluate their own suitability to work with patients and the public. All majors are required to meet with program faculty prior to progressing to the third year.
