Faculty and Staff Participation

New Student Convocation is the official opening of the academic year and the introductory university academic event for our new undergraduate students.  We welcome all faculty and staff who would normally process in commencement to robe up and join us for this important ceremony. The 2023 New Student Convocation takes place on Monday, September 18. We look forward to welcoming our newest members of the Seattle University academic community.

Instructions for Arriving

Please Arrive at the Redhawk Center just south of E. Cherry St. on 14th Ave. at 9:15 to the Redhawk Activity Court (RAC) for robing and to line up. Please pack light as you will not be able to leave items in the RAC after processing.

Overview of the Event

9:45 am: Faculty and Staff arrive for robing

10:15 am: Faculty and Staff move into place for procession

10:30 am: Procession

10:40 am: Program

11:40 am: Students, faculty, and staff process to School and College events
