About this Program
Prepare for your career in the evolving, multidisciplinary design landscape through the design program at the Cornish College of the Arts for Seattle University!
The program is structured in two phases to hone your craft in design, starting with two years of foundational instruction followed by two years of self-directed study. You get to choose your specialty, ranging from game design to interior architecture, and prepare your portfolio to ensure you are well-prepared for the industry.
You will develop expertise in industry standard software, including the Adobe Creative Suite, Figma and Blender, and emerging technologies for virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence. With an average class size of 15 students, you will receive personalized instruction from faculty who are experienced professionals across design disciplines.
Our program includes access to facilities for photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, digital media labs, a motion capture studio and the Multimedia Checkout Center, enabling you to innovate and create across many disciplines.
With guidance and support from the program, you will have ample opportunity to pursue internships with design firms, tech companies and arts organizations. Our collaborative studio courses bring experts from the industry to work directly with you on real-world projects, with the potential for these projects to be produced.
Graduates have worked in prestigious design firms and tech companies, often securing roles based on their strong portfolios and professional networks developed during their time in the program.
