How to Apply-Educational Administration
Learn more about how to apply for Seattle University’s Educational Administration graduate program and Post-Master's Certificate programs.
Priority deadline for applications is January 15.
The final application deadline is May 15, pending space.
Application Review Process and Timeline
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis through the final deadline or until the cohort is filled. Early submission by the priority deadline is encouraged to ensure consideration for the upcoming cohort as well as consideration for institutional aid scholarships. Please note that cohort coursework officially begins every summer quarter.
Applications for the Post-Master's Certification program are accepted for summer quarter only. Students may apply early and begin taking core College of Education courses prior to the cohort start.

- Schedule a meeting with an Admission Counselor
- Schedule a campus tour
- If you currently work with a district, please have conversations with your building and/or district leader about what it would mean to complete an administrative internship for a year while in the program.
- Review Admissions Dates & Deadlines
- The Educational Administration program offers a priority deadline and final deadline. Applying by the priority deadline ensures consideration for space in the cohort and consideration for institutional aid scholarships.
- After the priority application deadline, applications are reviewed on a rolling basis through the final deadline, pending space in the program.

STEP 2
Begin Your Application
Once you start an application you will be able to save your progress and will not have to complete it all at once.
The Educational Administration application includes the following elements:
- Statement of Purpose
- In the application you will be asked to write a 500-word or less response to the following prompt: Describe how your experiences, perspectives and talents have shaped your understanding of leadership and will help you to make an impact in your graduate work at Seattle University and to inspire transformational change in the communities you serve.
- Résumé
- Provide a professional résumé reflecting at least three years of successful relevant work experience.
- For Principal Specialization your experience must be classroom-based.

- Two Recommendation Forms
- Two recommendation forms are required from individuals who can speak to your skills and potential as an educational leader. One recommendation must come from your current building leader and/or potential mentor for your administrative internship.
- Once you've started your application, you will add their email address and they will receive a link to the evaluation form. The form should only take them 15 minutes to fill out.

- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- From an accredited college or university in any field.
- Minimum of 3.00 GPA

- Applicants with less than a 3.00 GPA might be considered for probationary admission and can submit an additional GPA explanation statement. Applicants with a non-graded bachelor's degree are required to submit a GRE/GMAT test score.
- Required Transcripts
- Submit official or unofficial transcripts for your most recent coursework to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

- Transcripts may be submitted electronically to grad-application@seattleu.edu or mailed.
- Once accepted to the program, students will need to submit official transcripts within their first quarter of enrollment.
- Submit official or unofficial transcripts for your most recent coursework to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
- For Post-Master's Certificate Applications Only. Here are the additional requirements:
- Principal Certificate Candidates
- Master's Degree
- Valid Teaching Certificate issued from any US state or territory.

Finish Your Application
- Submit your application
- Make sure you hit “Submit” on your application.
- Submitted applications are only considered complete once all application materials have been received including your recommendation forms.
- Interview Video Submission
- Once you have submitted your application you will be sent a link with directions on how to record video responses to several questions regarding educational leadership and your professional goals.
- Your application will not be reviewed unless this video is submitted.
- All material submitted becomes the property of Seattle University and will be maintained according to institutional records management practices.
