Music, Minor
Combine musical practice with other academics with a music minor. Learn history, theory, composition, and apply your musical skills in groups and private lessons.
About this Program
Combine Your Musical Practice with Other Academic Goals
The Music minor offers opportunities for both vocal and instrumental musicians to combine artistic practice with other academic pursuits. In addition to building a foundation of music fundamentals — history, theory and composition — students apply their skills through private music lessons and participation in one or more of the department's thriving musical groups. You must identify a specific area of musical practice in one of the following: voice, piano, viola, cello or violin.
Note: Interdisciplinary Arts majors may not earn a Music minor.
