For the past 36 years, Seattle University has celebrated the Alumni Awards, honoring alumni and community members who exemplify our Jesuit values and excel in the areas of leadership, professional achievement and community service. We had an excellent slate of nominees in all categories and the outstanding winners introduced below represent some of the very best of Seattle University alumni.
The Seattle University Alumni Association recognizes outstanding individuals who have been change-makers in our community. Each year we celebrate the outstanding members of the Seattle University community who embody who we are, who promote our Jesuit values, and who demonstrate leadership and service to others. Dorothy Cordova, '53

For her instrumental support and advocacy for the Filipino American community in Seattle and nationwide, Dorothy Cordova has been chosen to receive the highest honor: Alumna of the Year.
Outstanding Recent Alumna
Renee Rassilyer-Bomers, '03, '06, '16
College of Arts and Sciences, College of Nursing
For her exemplary career in health care and critical leadership during a local COVID-19 vaccination response effort, Renee Rassilyer-Bomers will be the recipient of the Outstanding Recent Alumna Award.
University Service Award
Craig Sims, '97 JD
School of Law
For his leadership and powerful mentoring within the Seattle University School of Law, Craig Sims will receive the University Service Award.
Professional Achievement Award
Tresha Lacaux, '07
College of Science and Engineering
For her outstanding career in the aerospace industry and dedication to diversity and social advocacy in the STEM field, Tresha Lacaux is well-deserving of the Professional Achievement Award.
Community Service Award
Major General Bret D. Daugherty, '80, '89
College of Arts and Sciences
For dedicating his career to serving and protecting the state of Washington and the nation, Maj. Gen. Bret Daugherty will be the recipient of the Community Service Award.
Athletics Hall of Fame
Tarik Skubal, '18
Baseball, Albers School of Business
For his record-breaking four seasons on the Redhawk baseball team, Tarik Skubal will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. A pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, he is the highest drafted player in program history.

Kacie Sowell Timmons, '14
Basketball, College of Arts and Sciences
For leading the Redhawks to back-to-back 20-win seasons in 2011-12 and 2012-13 and ranking in the program's all-time Top 10 in points, rebounding, field goals and blocks, Kacie Sowell Timmons will be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
