My background in sport/entertainment has emphasized the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and goal alignment. The fast- paced nature of the industry has taught me to make quick, data-driven decisions while fostering collaboration across departments to ensure organizational success.
Are there any lessons from your time at Albers/Seattle University that you continue to apply in your life and career?
Albers/SU emphasized the importance of continuous learning and critical thinking, which I apply by always seeking innovative solutions and new approaches to problem- solving. The focus on collaboration and effective communication also shaped my ability to work effectively within teams and lead data-driven projects in dynamic environments.
What is one piece of advice you would offer to a student who is passionate about sport and entertainment and interested in following a similar path?
Be proactive in seeking internships and networking opportunities. The sport and entertainment industry is built on connections and hands-on experience, so don’t be afraid to reach out, ask questions, and immerse yourself in the field. Also, don’t forget that this industry extends further than just sport organizations.
Remember that a lot of the main partners with these organizations are focused on providing similar services and experiences for their respective markets.
