Albers School Connects Students with Industry Mentors
The Albers School of Business & Economics at Seattle University connects its students with experienced business leaders who volunteer as mentors in three career mentoring programs: the Albers Mentor Program, the Accounting Mentor Program, and the MBA Sport and Entertainment Mentor Program. These programs help students develop their professional skills and build connections with industry professionals from various fields. The mentors are part of the vibrant business community in Seattle, which is a hub of technology, business, international development, arts, culture, and social innovation. Albers Mentor Program
The Albers Mentor Program is a highly acclaimed program that provides graduate-level and senior undergraduate business students with an opportunity to interact with upper-level executives from leading Puget Sound companies and organizations. The program helps students build success in today’s business climate, which requires more than scholarly academic pursuits; it also requires knowledge of the business environment and the ability to negotiate within it.
The program enables students to learn from the “real world” experience of the mentors, who offer invaluable career guidance, suggestions for the recruiting and interviewing process, professional insights into business issues, and professional development opportunities. Many of the mentors are SU alumni who work in a variety of industries. Seattle University is fortunate to have such a supportive network of alumni who are willing to assist those currently pursuing their degree.
Accounting Mentor Program
The Accounting Mentor Program is designed to help accounting students develop their professional skills and build connections with industry professionals from accounting firms and corporations. The program matches junior and senior accounting students with mentors who have expertise in various areas of accounting, such as auditing, taxation, financial reporting, and consulting. The program helps students prepare for their future careers in accounting by providing them with mentorship, networking, and learning opportunities.
MBA SEM Mentor Program
The MBA Sport and Entertainment Mentor Program is a unique opportunity for MBA SEM students to interact with industry professionals from the sports and entertainment industries. The program connects students with mentors who have experience in various aspects of these industries, such as marketing, finance, operations, management, and media. The program helps students gain exposure to the dynamic and competitive fields of sports and entertainment by providing them with mentorship, networking, and learning opportunities.
