Background

Job Description

I am responsible for the Portfolio and Go To Market strategies as well as business development of Genie's Aftermarket Parts portfolio. I regularly work with Sales, Marketing, Materials, Pricing, and Engineering to develop new offerings to bring to market and support existing products in our portfolio.

Company Description

Genie was founded in 1966 when Bud Bushnell bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. Customers seemed to be impressed with the “magic in the bottle” that was used to raise and lower the hoist — and, the “Genie” name was born. With growing demand for material lifts and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), products such as man-lifts, stick booms, articulated booms, scissor lifts and telehandlers have been added to the Genie® product line. Today, Genie equipment is used in a variety of industries and applications worldwide, including rental, aviation, construction, entertainment, government and military, industrial, as well as warehouse and retail.

Mentoring Objectives & Scope

My goal is to help mentees understand the process of navigating the job market after finishing their post-secondary programs. I am passionate about leadership, communication, and emotional intelligence. Having switched career paths during my MBA program at Seattle U, I can help provide guidance on how to navigate this process and approach current managers, mentors, or connections on steps to take to prepare for a career transition.

When and where do you hold meetings with your students?

Hybrid (mix of in-person and virtual)
I can meet near the Seattle U campus on Friday afternoons or at Genie's HQ in Bothell from Tuesday to Thursday. I am available for virtual meetings most afternoons or evenings as well.

Additional Information

I love spending time hiking and skiing as well as playing tennis and basketball with friends. I am a huge college basketball fan and am learning more about home improvement and renovations now that my wife and I are homeowners in the area.
