Mentoring Objectives & Scope

I hope students working with me will walk away with:

- A clear understanding of how to translate academic experiences into professional value. We’ll work on how to communicate strengths effectively, especially in resumes, interviews, and early job roles.

- Core skills in self-assessment, goal-setting, and decision-making. These are vital for navigating the ambiguity and complexity that often comes in the first few years of a career.

- A personalized professional development plan. Together, we’ll identify areas of strength and growth, and create a practical map for developing key competencies—whether technical, interpersonal, or strategic.

- A mindset of curiosity and continuous learning. I strongly encourage a Socratic seminar style of learning—dialogue over lecture. Students will be asked thoughtful questions and challenged to reflect critically, connect ideas, and develop their own informed conclusions.

- Confidence in their voice. Whether in a meeting, presentation, or one-on-one conversation, students should leave our sessions with stronger communication skills and self-awareness.

- Above all, I want mentees to see our time together not as a one-way advice channel, but as a dynamic space to explore ideas, refine their thinking, and build the kind of foundational confidence that lasts beyond college.

When and where do you hold meetings with your students?

Hybrid (mix of in-person and virtual) - On or near campus or Amazon offices.
