CEIE Leadership

CEIE is led by an integrated team of Students, Alumni, Faculty & Community Fellows, Advisory Council Members, a Coordinator, and our Founding Director.

An Integrated Network

CEIE Advisory Council

The CEIE Advisory Council is a long-standing community of non-profit and private industry leaders, faculty, students, alumni and staff. These leaders assist the CEIE Leadership Team in strategic discernment for the communities we serve, in alignment with the SU Strategic Directions and Mission Priority Examen. Receive a copy of the current strategic planning and annual report by writing to our Director and Spehar-Halligan Professor, Dr. Michael Trice at tricem@seattleu.edu.

CEIE Fellows

Seattle University CEIE Fellows include Faculty, Staff, and Community Leaders, who provide leadership through a specific portfolio or project. Fellows’ insights are shared with the university at lunches or other venues within the same academic year. Portfolios and projects range from network building to participating in a national conference on ‘covenantal pluralism’ (2024) that advance CEIE’s leadership in the religious and cultural richness of our time.

CEIE STM Alumni Ambassadors

CEIE, born from a tradition of leadership in diverse ecumenical, interreligious, and cultural contexts at Seattle University's School of Theology and Ministry (STM), continues its mission after STM closed in 2023. Today, the School of Theology and Ministry Alumni Ambassadors at CEIE work with us to provide innovative leadership, advancing Seattle University's mission in the Pacific Northwest, the country, and the world.

Our Core Team

Religions speak of a community being “many stones in a shared household.” At the Center, all of the dedicated people on this page share in creating, implementing, and leading.

Aligned to SU Strategic goals, we are reimagining, revising, strengthening, enhancing, and repositioning for growth. Our purpose is where mission and vision meet every day.
