Jesuit Tradition Resources
Seattle University builds upon a 500 year tradition of Jesuit education which emphasizes whole person engagement in the classroom in order to form leaders who will bring about a more just and humane world.
The Society of Jesus, founded in 1540 by St. Ignatius of Loyola, has a long and distinguished tradition in higher education and in a wide range of other institutional and apostolic works including secondary schools, retreat houses, parishes, and many forms of service to those in material and spiritual need.
Seattle University is a proud part of this exceptional tradition, drawing from it both strength and inspiration even while making its own unique contributions.
