Brenda Broussard, PhD, IBCLC, RN
Associate Professor
Biography
Dr. Broussard is an Associate Professor at Seattle University. She earned a PhD. in Nursing Science from the University of Washington; and completed Post-doctoral training at the University of Washington on the Women’s Health Nursing Research Training Grant. Her research has focused on women who suffer from bulimia nervosa; examining the prevalence of disordered eating among the general obstetric population; and pregnancy and birth outcomes in women with probable eating disorders. Dr. Broussard's current research explores nursing faculty members' experience with teaching students about race, racism, and the resulting health and healthcare inequities; and the scholarship of teaching and learning. She has been a Registered Nurse for many years in maternal/child nursing; and continues to maintain practice as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant at Swedish Hospital Medical Center, First Hill Campus.
