Fanghui Zhao

Assistant Professor, Leadership & Professional Studies

Biography

Fanghui Zhao is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Seattle University. Her research focuses on two primary areas:

  • (1) exploring cross-cultural counseling processes and outcomes, and
  • (2) investigating the development of Multicultural Social Justice Counseling Competencies (MSJCC) among counselor trainees.

She is dedicated to leveraging research to improve access to high-quality mental health care for marginalized populations, with a particular emphasis on addressing the needs of racial and ethnic minority clients. With experience in diverse settings such as college counseling centers, community clinics, and career services, she brings a wealth of expertise in working with young adults.
