Biography

Dr. Hilary L. Lichterman (she/her/hers) serves as the Executive Director of Housing & Residence Life at Seattle University and as a Fellow at the Global Curiosity Institute. With over two decades of experience, Hilary prioritizes a people-first approach to developing future-focused, innovative, and sustainable organizations and is regarded as a dynamic and trusted leader, educator, and scholar. She is a champion for centering a curiosity-driven mindset with practical leadership skills to drive positive change and transformation in lives and organizations. Hilary has presented more than 100 educational sessions at various local, regional, national, and international conferences and institutes, co-authored 10 publications, maintains active involvement in professional associations such as ACUHO-I, ACPA, NASPA, and CUPA-HR, and serves as a keynote speaker, retreat and workshop facilitator, and consultant. She is a co-author of the book The Curricular Approach to Student Affairs (2020). Hilary earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Administration in Higher Education at the University of South Carolina, a Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish for the Professions and Psychology from Marquette University. Hilary is a daughter, sister, cousin, friend (by birth and by choice), a cheese connoisseur, bookworm, Zumba fan, outdoor explorer, aspiring plant caretaker, and lives by the mantra: “Believe Boldly. Lead Curiously.”
