Biography
Md Moniruzzaman currently holds master’s in computer science from Towson University (Maryland, USA), master’s in public administration from University of Regina (Canada), as well as master’s in business administration from University of Dhaka (Bangladesh) and bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from BUET (Bangladesh). Besides, Md is successfully progressing towards earning his Doctorate degree in Information system from Claremont Graduate University (California, USA). In this respect, he has already successfully defended his proposal, and planned to defend the dissertation by 2023. In addition to Md’s strong educational background, he has more than 20 years of progressive industry experience in diversified capacities (policy personnel as well as technical expert) across public organizations in USA, Provincial Government of Canada, private (one of the Fortune 500 Companies) organizations in USA, non-Government (NGO) international development organizations (World Bank, CIDA, USAID, EU funded project) in Asia and other consultancy experiences in North America and Asia that help him to develop unique insights and expertise in bridging the gap between academic and industry arena. In these organizations, he was particularly assigned to formulate policy to manage and coordinate innovation and entrepreneurship and strategize management to address the challenges and realize the promises for the respective organizations. Furthermore, before joining Seattle University as an Assistant Teaching Professor, in the areas of Information Systems and Business Analytics Md taught at various universities including University of California Riverside, Metropolitan State University, and several campuses of California State University. During these various academic position in these universities, he has taught upper-level courses such as Capstone courses, Business Intelligence, Big Data using Python, Business Analytics, Data mining, Information Economy, Database fundamentals, Data warehouse and Data Science subjects for graduate and undergraduate students. With regards to Scholarly activities, he has published in Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS 2021), titled "Epidemic VS Pandemic: A Visual Data Analysis of Gun Deaths Vs COVID-19 Deaths in the United States of America" and in Designing for a Digital and Globalized World conference (DESRIST 2018), titled “Taxonomy Development for Virtual Reality (VR)Technologies in Healthcare Sector”. Furthermore, he has been working towards publication of two more research papers titled "Towards Achieving Human Flourishing -An mHealth Application" and "Understanding Cancer Caregiving and Predicting Burden: An Analytic and Machine learning approach."
