Biography

I enjoy teaching and coaching Marriage and Family Therapy students as they develop their skills. It has been a passion of mine since I received my training as a MFT. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, I received my MFT training from the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, Kansas from 1978 to 1981. The externship provided training in structural and strategic therapy. Since then, I have attended workshops and training in solution focused therapy, narrative, MRI, Gestalt, among others. My work ranged from private practice to agency work with adoption, early learning including as a consultant for Head Start and Early Learning programs, homeless teen, foster care and Residential treatment for youth. I also have expertise in working with LGBTQ couples, families and individuals. I taught at Presbyterian Counseling Services MFT program for 13 years. I continue to teach on-line courses for AAMFT members interested in becoming Approved Supervisors. I have been an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy Approved Supervisor since 1988. I moved to Seattle in 1988 where I met my husband. We have been married for 32 years and have two children and a stepdaughter now in their 40’s.
