Biography
Stephanie Velasco is a proud daughter of Filipino immigrants, and a first-generation Filipino-American born and raised in eastern Washington. As a marketing and communications professional within the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, Stephanie takes her passion for creativity and strategy to amplify the unique missions of organizations that are making an impact, while also centering the voices and needs of community.
She is currently a Senior Strategist at Pyramid Communications, a full-service strategy and creative consulting firm dedicated to a more just and sustainable world. In this role, she collaborates with a variety of mission-driven organizations – many that empower and uplift communities of color in the Greater Seattle region and across Washington state. Some of her recent clients include BIPOC ED Coalition, Black Future Co-Op Fund, Byrd Barr Place, International Community Health Services, Renton Regional Community Foundation, and Washington Community Alliance. Prior to joining Pyramid, she led marketing and communications efforts for Sea Mar, a network of 100+ community-based health clinics and programs across Washington state that specializes in services to Latinos.
Stephanie graduated from the University of Washington Foster School of Business in 2016 with a focus in Marketing, Certificate of International Studies in Business, and a minor in Spanish. She earned a Master in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University in 2021.
