Biography
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Thom Mayes has built a career in the arts which integrates music performance, executive leadership, and consulting. As a double bassist he has performed with orchestras across the Western US and made music in venues including Carnegie Hall and the American Academy in Rome. He served as Executive Director for nonprofit historic theaters and classical music organizations throughout Washington and Nevada, including the Lincoln Theatre (Mount Vernon), Northwest Sinfonietta (Tacoma), and Reno Chamber Orchestra (Reno, NV).
Thom currently lives in the Hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma with his two dogs, Mahler and Lou. He is the founder of Servus Arts, LLC, providing arts consulting and interim leadership to small nonprofits throughout Puget Sound. He also works to support his family business, which owns and operates the Skyline Drive In Theater in Shelton, WA- one of five drive ins still in operation across the state.
