Esports & University Gaming

Located in the heart of Seattle’s tech hub Esports Room 330, it’s no surprise that our largest student-run club is the Esports and Gaming Club.

Social & Competitive Gaming for Everyone

Gaming at Seattle University is about connection first. Through competitive and casual play, watch parties, and shared experiences, students build community in one of campus’s fastest growing clubs. Esports becomes a space to recharge, meet people, and take part in campus life in a way that feels right for you.

The esports space offers access to gaming PCs, Xbox consoles with Game Pass, and Nintendo systems, with available equipment and titles rotating throughout the year.

Community First Gaming

Gaming at Seattle University is about connection first. Through competitions, casual play, watch parties, and shared conversations, students build community through gaming. Whether you are new to gaming or have years of experience, there is space for you here. Esports includes both competitive and recreational video gaming, and there is no single way to participate. Some students join tournaments, others play casually, and many simply enjoy being part of a welcoming community.

Flexible Participation, Strong Community

With opportunities available throughout the week, gaming can fit naturally into your day. You might stop by between classes, spend time in the space before dinner, or connect online when you want a more involved experience. Esports and Gaming is the largest student-led group on campus, bringing together nearly 800 students and alumni. Some members connect online, others gather in person, and many do both. Each way of showing up matters.

Inclusive and Accessible by Design

We prioritize an environment where people feel welcomed, respected, and comfortable participating in their own way. You do not need to own gaming equipment to be involved. Shared controllers and resources are available to reduce barriers and support students with different needs, backgrounds, and circumstances. The Esports club, founded in Fall 2018 by Leah Arakaki ’19 and Danielle Gilbert ’20, has centered around inclusion from the beginning and utilizes the space with that in mind today.

A Space That Supports You

Located in the Student Center (Room 330), the Esports lounge offers a place to relax, play, and connect. Former Esports Club President Alvaro Vazquez ’22 helped secure funding for the space, which was designed in collaboration with Cardinal Architecture to feel welcoming and comfortable for all members. Whether you want to compete, unwind, or simply be around others who share your interests, Esports and Gaming at Seattle University is a place to connect, recharge, and feel supported.
