Training and workshops for students, faculty and staff

The MOSAIC Center team supports and facilitates critical learning and engagement on topics of social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. We believe that ALL members of the community can and must share responsibility for creating a more just and equitable campus culture. We are key campus partners for education focused on awareness building, skill development and capacity building. Potential focal areas for workshops and trainings include:

  • Increasing awareness of cultural histories and perspectives
  • Understanding structural inequalities and oppression
  • Exposure to minoritized experiences and narratives
  • Ability to name –isms and their manifestation from an individual to societal level
  • Deconstructing systems of privilege
  • Developing skill sets for critical thinking, dialogue, and advocacy related to social justice

We are available for referrals, consultations, and content facilitation for faculty, staff, and students.

To request our support and/or expertise, please email us at mosaic@seattleu.edu and include the date/time, location, learning outcomes, participate number, and desired length. We need at least 3 weeks prior notice to process your request and ask you to complete an intake meeting with a staff member.

We are committed to supporting the thriving of all students, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. One of the ways we can create a campus environment that promotes a sense of safety and belonging for undocumented students is by continuing to educate our broader community about the undocumented experience and how to be an advocate and ally.

At this time, we offer an UndocuAlly training for staff and faculty quarterly.

This interactive workshop is designed to foster understanding, allyship and support for the Trans community, within our campus and beyond. The hope is that people learn how to show up and show solidarity while also learning about important issues facing the transgender, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming community past, present, and future.
