Celebrating Our Outstanding Alumni
Know of an alum who exemplifies leadership, engages in service with the community and the university or elevates diversity and justice? If so, consider nominating them for this year’s Alumni Awards.
The Seattle University Alumni Association is accepting nominations—through midnight on October 1—for its 37th Annual Alumni Awards, happening on Friday, February 2024.
For one special night, the university will recognize five individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, a commitment to care, academic excellence, diversity, justice and an alignment with our Jesuit values. Seattle University Athletics will also induct two exceptional athletes into the esteemed Hall of Fame.
Here are the categories:
Alumna/us of the Year
The highest honor bestowed by the Alumni Association, this award recognizes those who embody the mission and Jesuit values of the university. Awardees regularly demonstrate outstanding and purposeful leadership, discernment, service to the university and community and a commitment to care, academic excellence, diversity, faith and justice.
Outstanding Recent Alumna/us
This award recognizes alumni who have graduated within the past 10 years and whose contributions embody the Jesuit mission and values of Seattle University. Recipients of this award serve as role models for current and future graduates through career impact, outstanding leadership and diverse service to their communities.
University Service Award
Recognizes those who have had a major impact on the university, its schools, colleges, departments, students or faculty through distinguished leadership and service. These individuals contribute to the advancement of the academic mission of higher education in the Jesuit tradition and have a longstanding legacy of service with the university.
Professional Achievement Award
Recognizes alumni who exhibit exceptional accomplishments and leadership in their professional field while maintaining a career that exemplifies a Seattle University education—demonstrating active inquiry, intellectual curiosity and leadership. Recipients of this award have often gained national or international recognition in their careers.
Community Service Award
Awarded to those who have made a lasting impact in their communities. These individuals embody the university’s values of care, justice, leadership, faith and diversity through service in spiritual, artistic, recreational, educational, social justice or other important areas. Recipients better the quality of life around them through service in their professional or volunteer roles.
