Seattle University is #7 nationally in the Purchasing category.
Seattle University has been recognized as a top performer in the 2023 Sustainable Campus Index published by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE).
In the latest edition of the index, SU is ranked #7 in the Purchasing category. The university has strengthened its sustainable purchasing guidelines for several commodities on campus and has been purchasing 100% recycled paper since 2019. Visit AASHE for the full Sustainable Campus Index.
The index is based on data submitted for AASHE’s Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) program, in which 900 participants in 40 countries participate. SU’s last STARS report, which was submitted in 2021, resulted in the university being recognized with a Gold rating. The university expects to submit its next report in 2024.
