Seattle University men’s basketball earns a bid to play in this year’s National Invitational Tournament with home game.

We’re in!

For the first time since 1957, Seattle University men’s basketball will play in the National Invitational Tournament (NIT), hosting St. Thomas on Tuesday, March 17, at Redhawk Center. Tip off is at 7 p.m. (viewers can catch the game on ESPN+).

It’s been a historic 2025-26 season for men’s basketball, entering the tournament with a 20-13 overall record and its fourth 20-win season of the last five years under Coach Chris Victor. The team finished its first season in the West Coast Conference tied for fifth in league standings, advancing to the third round of the Credit Union 1 WCC Championship.

In its modern-day Division I history, the Redhawks are 7-4 in five postseason appearances, which has included four College Basketball Invitational (CBI) tournaments and one appearance in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT). Most recently, the Redhawks claimed the 2024 CBI title, winning four games in five days in Daytona Beach, Fla.
