Roundglass India Center

The Roundglass India Center is an interdisciplinary center focused on the study of contemporary India and Indian Americans. Founded in 2023, the Center's key goals are to educate our communities, connect India and U.S., and give back to India and U.S. 

The Center is comprised of a core staff, over 30 affiliated faculty members, and graduate student Roundglass Scholars.

The Center's free events feature prominent speakers on topics of interest to India and Indian Americans to educate our communities. We offer in-person and virtual formats, ensuring accessibility to the greater public. 

The Center supports a range of academic and research programs, including student exchanges, faculty research grants, and the Access to Justice project.

The Raman Visiting Scholar in India Studies is an annual program bringing a leading scholar to Seattle University for a keynote lecture and dialogue on contemporary India and the Indian diaspora. 

The conversation doesn’t stop on campus — it continues through our two original podcasts: The Hyphen: Indian American Dialogues and the award-winning Desi Roots & Routes, spotlighting bold voices, big ideas, and timely debates on India and the Indian American experience.
