With Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), the Center advances faculty engagement in interdisciplinary learning, social impact, and inclusive education.

In 2025, the Center led a combined India Trek and Global Faculty Programme delegation to KIIT and KISS, bringing faculty and staff from all seven Seattle University colleges into direct partnership. The delegation strengthened institutional ties and laid the foundation for student opportunities, curriculum development, and collaborative research to come

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) Partnership

Seattle University's School of Law sustains a partnership with O.P. Jindal Global University, built on two-way student exchange.

    Seattle University students study at JGU to engage directly with India's legal, political, business, and social systems, through immersive, academically rigorous programs.

    Indian Law and Legal Institutions: Artificial Intelligence and Access to Justice (1 credit) — Professor LeighAnne Thompson

    J.D. students travel to New Delhi to study at Jindal Global Law School over Spring Break, using a comparative framework to examine how Indian and U.S. legal systems approach the ethical use of AI and its potential to expand access to justice. Students study Indian law, legal history, and legal institutions firsthand, alongside visits to Indian courts and historic sites around New Delhi and Agra, then submit a reflection paper within three weeks of returning to Seattle. Open to J.D. students in their second year or above.

    Jindal students bring global perspective to Seattle University's classrooms, deepening our community's engagement with contemporary India and its diaspora.

    AI, Law, and Technology — In July 2025, Seattle University Law School hosted 30 Jindal Global Law School students for a short course on AI, Law, and Technology, with visits to Microsoft and Perkins Coie and conversations with Seattle's legal thought leaders.
