The MBA in Sport and Entertainment Management (MBA SEM) program provides an exceptional opportunity for students to engage deeply with the fast-paced, dynamic sport and entertainment industry. Through the Program’s strategic partnerships, students may become MBA SEM Associates, gaining unparalleled, hands-on experience, professional insights, and career-building exposure. The competitive application process seeks dedicated, motivated students who meet the qualifications and follow the outlined application procedures.
Responsibilities and Expectations
MBA SEM Associates will work closely with industry professionals, gaining valuable insights and practical experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Brand Ambassadors: Represent the MBA SEM program at key industry events, promoting the program's mission and reinforcing its positive reputation.
- Social Media Engagement: Actively manage an online presence by sharing updates and insights across platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, and X to increase program visibility.
- Program Collaboration: Contribute as a member of the MBA SEM Associates Board, offering feedback to program leadership and helping drive continuous improvement. The Associates Board will meet in early October 2025.
Each MBA SEM Partner is asked to provide one or more job position descriptions tailored specifically for the MBA SEM Associate Program, which should be submitted by February 1, 2026, to the MBA SEM Director. These descriptions are intended solely for the MBA SEM Associate Program and will not be posted publicly.
Job positions for the Associates Program are part-time positions, which last generally from six to nine months in duration. Ideally positions will allow the Associate to experience diverse aspect of the partner’s business enterprise. Compensation to the Associate is approximately $15,000, depending on the hours and duration of the position.
In addition to hiring MBA SEM Associates, program partners agree to offer the following:
- Mentorship: Supervisors will provide structured guidance, including regular check-ins, feedback, and introductions to industry networks, enhancing the student’s professional development.
- Leadership Gatherings: Partners will take turns hosting quarterly meetings where MBA SEM Associates and their supervisors can interact with each participating organization’s leaders, gain valuable insights, and discuss industry trends.
- Performance Evaluation: At the end of the position term, supervisors will assess each MBA SEM Associate's performance, delivering feedback to both the student and MBA SEM Director to support continuous improvement.
