Curriculum Notes

  • The Spanish major requires a learning program in a Spanish-speaking country. To be acceptable, the student must complete: a) A minimum of two quarters or one semester in an approved program abroad; b) Successfully complete the equivalent of 20 quarter credits or 15 semester credits abroad; c) At least two 4000-level classes (10 credits) must be taken at SU; d) 4000-level major electives taken on study abroad programs should incorporate a literature emphasis (or as otherwise approved by department).   • SPAN 3150 and SPAN 3250 may be completed at SU, or as approved by department through the study abroad approval process.  
  • The 3000-level electives are taken in your Study Abroad Program.
  • SPAN Capstone: select from SPAN 4010, 4050, 4180, 4260, 4300, 4390, 4510, or 4560. Courses are offered in different quarters, see updated schedule on MySeattleU Student Planning
