Strategic Realignment of Enrollment Leadership
I am writing to share an important organizational update on the structure of our enrollment leadership, which is critical to our strategic vision for Seattle University.
Dear Faculty and Staff,
I hope this message finds you well and that you are enjoying the summer months. I am writing to share an important organizational update on the structure of our enrollment leadership, which is critical to our strategic vision for Seattle University.
Effective immediately, the enrollment areas for both undergraduate and graduate (non-law) programs will report directly to me. Many universities like ours employ a similar reporting structure and I believe now is the right time for this change at SU. With higher education increasingly more competitive and our Jesuit education needed more than ever, this change underscores our commitment to fully aligning our enrollment strategies with the university’s highest priorities and ensuring that we are agile and responsive in our decision-making processes.
As part of this realignment, Monica Ingram’s title will change from Vice Provost to Vice President for Enrollment Management. Monica has demonstrated exceptional leadership in her role during an extraordinarily challenging time for our sector, and this change reflects the strategic importance of her team’s work to the university.
In addition, Kima Cargill, who began her role as Vice Provost and Dean of Graduate Education on July 1, will have a dual reporting line. While Kima will report to Provost Shane Martin for responsibilities related to academic programs and the graduate student experience, she will report directly to me for all enrollment-related matters. This dual reporting structure will enable us to maintain a cohesive approach to our enrollment strategies while ensuring Kima’s other key responsibilities are well managed and supported.
These changes are designed to strengthen our enrollment efforts, ensuring that we are well-positioned to meet our strategic objectives and continue to attract and retain outstanding students in a rapidly changing and highly challenging higher education environment. Thank you for your continued dedication and support as we move forward together to confront these challenges. I wish you a joy-filled summer with loved ones and hope you find ample time for rest and renewal.
Respectfully,
Eduardo M. Peñalver
President
