Step 1
Start the Process
- Schedule a meeting with a Graduate Admissions Counselor
- Review Admissions Dates and Deadlines.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the program cohort has been filled. Please see the following table to understand the admissions process:
- Application Priority Deadlines:
- Winter - Nov. 8
- Spring - Feb. 8
- Fall - Aug. 7
- Application Review: Two weeks after completed application submitted.
- Decision Notification: Four weeks after completed application submitted.

Begin Your Application
Once you start an application you will be able to save your progress and will not have to complete it all at once.
This application includes the following elements:
Work Experience or Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience
Applicants are encouraged to inquire and discuss a portfolio that might include work experience, higher education, military service, certificates and expertise. The expectation is that applicants are on a career trajectory where this program can support a move to positions of leadership over cybersecurity technology, cultural, and business processes in a variety of disciplines such as technical IT , cyber defense policy, accounting roles such as SOC (Service Organization Control) compliance, supply chain management, cyber law, corporate leadership, Security Operations Center (SOC) managers, or CISO/cybersecurity director roles.
Bachelor's Degree
- Evidence of four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution or U.S. equivalent completed before the program starts.
- Competitive applicants meet the minimum cumulative GPA with bachelor's degree work, as well as credits completed post-graduation.
- Official Transcripts:
- Submit transcripts from any school where coursework contributed to an earned degree, certificate, prerequisite, or endorsement credit.
- Applicants may be accepted into the program with unofficial transcripts, however, must submit official transcripts within the first quarter of enrollment.

Résumé
Please provide:
- A one-to-two-page document that includes any relevant academic or professional experiences in an educational or volunteer setting.
- Applicants must have at least five years of progressive managerial experience.
Personal statement or letter of intent
Please provide a personal statement (one to two pages double-spaced) that touches on the following:
- Why you are interested in our Cybersecurity Leadership program.
- Describe your cybersecurity experience and/or managerial experience.
- How you hope this degree will benefit your career.
English proficiency
- Graduate and post-baccalaureate applicants who received a baccalaureate degree or higher from Seattle University or a recognized college or university in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Bahamas, Jamaica, Kenya, Singapore, Belize, Nigeria, and Trinidad and Tobago will not be required to submit English proficiency test scores.
- Students earning a degree in a country other than those listed above may provide official documentation from the degree-granting institution verifying that all instruction was in English. A minimum of three years of enrollment at the university is required. English proficiency may be met with an official TOEFL score of 86 (IBT), or the IELTS exam with a minimum score of 6.5; PTE score of 63%; or Duolingo score of 120.

Check Your Application Status
Check your status
- You can login to the Graduate Application page to check the status of your application anytime.
- Submitted applications are only considered complete once all application materials have been received, including your official transcripts and recommendation forms and letters if included.
Monitor your email
- Make sure to regularly check the email you listed on your application for updates, including your admission decision. Completed applications generally take three to four weeks to be evaluated and reviewed by the department. When a decision has been made, a notification will be sent via email asking you to check your application portal.
