Albers Undergraduate Advising
Albers' undergraduate advising team assists students in navigating their academic journey. They help students develop goals, monitor their progress, plan for graduation, and more.
Here to Help You Achieve Your Goals
At the Albers School, we’re committed to providing you with accessible academic advising services that will help you achieve your academic goals. We believe that students are the driving force behind their own education. That’s why we encourage you to make the most of your education by taking advantage of our academic advising provided by professional academic advisors.
Our undergraduate academic advisors help you formulate an academic plan that’s tailored to your individual needs. They’ll assess your educational goals, provide information about degree requirements, university policy, and university procedure, and serve as a referral to other campus resources. They’ll also encourage you to get involved in campus programs and organizations that will benefit your educational experience. First-quarter registrants and first-time-in-college students are required to meet with an advisor to register for classes, but continuing students are also encouraged to seek academic advising regularly.
Registration and Waitlist Procedures
Course schedules and registration
- You can access course schedules and register for classes through MySeattleU Student Planning.
- Within the Timeline or Search for Classes, click on the course section number to reveal detailed course information, such as prerequisites, schedule, course description, lab fees, additional information, bookstore link, open seats, etc.
Business Class is Full/Closed
- Try registering for an open section of the same class.
- If you would like to be on the waitlist for a specific course or section, complete and submit the Albers Waitlist Form. The waitlist opens on the first day of registration.
- Go to Student Planning ->Plan and Schedule -> change to the current quarter. A few weeks before you register, you will see a light blue box that says:
"Student's registration period for (Fall/Winter/Spring/Summer) Quarter begins on Day x at Time y." - If you cannot change to the desired quarter, you may need to click the + button to add this quarter to your plan.
- Core does not keep waiting lists, so it is important to register for an open section (e.g., any section of UCOR 1400 that fits with your other classes) to complete your registration.
- Check status of the closed UCOR section in Student Planning regularly as enrollments do shift and it may later show up as open.
- If you cannot find any open section that fits with your other classes, contact your Albers advisor or email Albers Undergraduate Advising to discuss your options.
- Please visit University Core's Closed Course Procedure site for further information.
- Students may take up to 18 credits per quarter.
- Students with 45 credits or more and a 3.5 Cumulative GPA can register up to 20 credits.
- Students in their last quarter can take up to 20 credits regardless of their GPA.
